External Relations

It’s vital that Londoners know about the work of the Mayor and the policies and initiatives that impact their lives. The External Relations unit is responsible for ensuring City Hall and the GLA engage with Londoners. It delivers multi-channel communications campaigns to engage Londoners on the issues that they care most about, working closely with policy teams across the GLA. It is also responsible for bringing major sporting events to the capital and for the delivery of a programme of major events, faith and community festivals, and statutory events on behalf of both the Mayor and London Assembly.

The External Relations unit is comprised of teams focused on strategic communications and marketing campaigns, creative, digi comms and the Mayor’s press office. It also includes major sport, events and commercial partnerships teams. It is the home of the Public Liaison Unit which provides excellent customer service, responding to questions and queries from Londoners about the work of the Mayor and it supports the GLA Chief Officer and the Corporate Management Team in communicating effectively within the GLA organisation.
